Regan and Jerry

This is Regan and her Jerry. Do you know the story of Jerry?
Jerry is a Giraffe, and this is actually our 2nd round of Jerrys. The original Jerry was yellow, trimmed in green. When those got too yucky and I couldn't find any more anywhere, we switched to the green Jerry. Thank goodness Regan was young enough at that point that she didn't know the difference!

Jerry came as a gift from Rob's good friend in TX. His name is Jerry. We needed a name and the name stuck. Regan has slept with Jerry for as long as I can remember. We first started with a little bear, much like Taytum's, but somehow we switched to Jerry.

Taytum always had a pacifier and never got too attached to any animal...though she STILL sleeps with her bear...but Regan didn't do the pacifier thing. She did the Jerry thing. When she started to get teeth, she sucked on his poor antlers. This is why the yellow Jerrys got so yucky. I found more at Target and bought some so we could wash Jerry and also have some backups. That didn't take the smell out of them completely... So we switched to the green Jerry and we've stuck with green ever since.

I did find a new PINK Jerry and tried to do the same switcharoo, but Regan wasn't having it. We have at least three green Jerrys and Regan no longer sucks or chews on the antlers and ears. But we still throw Jerry in the wash to 'give him a bath' and we wrap his head in dryer sheets to help with the smell, which seems to have gone away FINALLY!!!

The rule was always that Jerry stayed in Regan's bed. That was the rule with Taytum and her pacifier also. But for some reason, Regan must have been sick and we must have been soft, because Jerry made the migration from her bed to the rest of the house! UGH! So Jerry is seen tagging along with Regan inside, playing makeup, jumping on the trampoline or getting pushed around in a car! However, I have put my foot down for Jerry going past that! We may have backups, but Jerry must NOT leave the house! I just can't imagine if he were to get lost!!! And can you imagine this face if he were lost?...
There is no doubt that this little girl love her Jerry! Sometimes I wonder if she loves him more than her mommy!!! :o)

...and the saga will continue with #3 (Kirby) I'm sure. When Regan wouldn't take the PINK Jerry, we passed him on to Kirby. Yes, I know the thing is PINK, but for some reason, he's still a HIM! Regan calls him Pink Jerry, but I'm trying to combat the 'likeness,' so I call him P.J. for short. We will have to see if we have the same attachment with Kirby. She sleeps with him now and she sure does love on that little bugger!!!

Dressing Up

The girls STILL love to dress up! And as you can see from the background, they go through the ENTIRE dress up box every time it comes out! Cleaning it all up may be a chore, but they are fun to watch.

This time around we had some sort of crazy dancing dog...

And I think the CAH-UUUUUtest Care Bear I've ever seen!!!

Granny's Torture

These pictures were also taken in September 2009. Granny was still here helping out while I was on the mend. I'm not sure what it is with Granny, but she's got this thing about putting things on my kids' heads. It's actually funny. Shorts, skirts...whatever happens to be there. Apparently we had gone to Bread Company because a BAG must have been lying around. Alas, Kirby's initiation into the "My Granny Likes To Put Stuff On Our Heads" club! HA HA HA HA!
Kirby is not so sure she's gonna enjoy this...
But then she decides that it isn't so bad...
And as a matter of fact, this is just the beginning of Kirby putting things on her own head! Little did we know that it would lead to her getting laughs out of all of us before too long!

Patio Complete

Our patio project is pretty much complete. In these pictures you can see the fire pit that Rob designed and built himself. We still have some finishing touches to make with furniture and such, but it has turned out really nice. We all love it!

Shin Guards

Regan puts on Taytum's shin guards...
Not much is needed to be said except for, "Regan," with a shake of the head! Hee hee!
I made sure to take a picture of her turned around so we could see just how she put them on. She keeps us laughing, that's for sure!

Kirby at 5 Months SEPT 09

Granny was still here helping out. Here are some pics we took of Kirby hanging out on the couch. She is just about 5 months old in these pictures.

Swimming? Aug 2009

I have said many, many times before what a KOOK our little Regan is. Check her out here. Who says you need water in the pool to have a good time?
Backwards down the slide? What a daredevil! I'm not sure this would be happening if there were water in the pool! Regan's attitude is, "Who cares?" So have at it!
Here she seems to say, "Swimming is hard work!"
Regan always makes life interesting! I hope she can always find the fun, positive aspects in every situation! ...like a pool and goggles can still be fun, water or not!

The Day Has Come

*SIGH*

The time has come for my 'baby' to enter Kindergarten! I can't believe it! She has been ready for a long time. I thought I was ready too, but now I'm thinking "not so much!"

We bought school shoes. We bought uniforms. We had a lunch box. We were ready! Now that I look back, I wasn't so ready mentally. Maybe it was a good thing that I was laid up in the hospital. I may have been more of a wreck than I thought!

Here's the big girl on her first big day...
I wasn't there, but I can tell she is beaming with pride and she's ready to go!
Even lil' sis is happy...tired, but happy!
Here she is... Entering Kindergarten... Mrs. Stephens' class...
*SIGH*
I can't believe it.

I can't believe I wasn't there.
I can't believe she's on her way...moving out and up into the world. Look out, 'cuz here she comes!
SO many thanks go out to Dad and Granny for being there and helping things go smoothly!!!
